According to a research study published in the ACS Journal, researchers have developed an alternative drug molecule with a high antitumor potential to manage platinum-resistant cancers.
The study was conducted by researchers from three prestigious institutions in India, namely the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), the Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), and IIT Hyderabad.
According to the study, the researchers have developed a new therapeutic agent called Ruthenium–Ferrocene Bimetallic. This molecule has shown the potential to curb primary tumor growth through anti-proliferation and limit metastasis through anti-angiogenesis. Hence, the researchers stated that the therapeutic agent can kill two birds with one stone.
